iPhone 3G in Philippines on August 22, 2008

Are they F***ing kidding me (sorry for the word – but I can’t)???

Have you heard the news? Have you seen the flyers? Have you read the article?

The MUCH anticipated iPhone 3G is arriving the Philippines on August 22, 2008 and will ONLY be distributed by Globe Telecoms. And compare to the US version of $199 for 8 Gig, Globe is offering it for Php 41,899 f***ing pesos for prepaid kit! Hello!!!! Are you kidding me? How did you convert Php 41,899 ($960) from the original price of $199? Was there any system loss charge?

I love Apple, and as soon as I’ve heard that an iPhone 3G will be offered exclusively by Globe Telecom in the Philippines, I decided that I will be getting one and place my almost 6 years Nokia phone in its resting place. Though, I don’t have the cash yet and a lot of cost cutting will be taking place, I decided that this will be the phone that I will replacing my old phone with. But with this news, I would have to redo my plans.

I am not expecting to pay $199, but I am also not expecting that I will be paying for $960! I know there are add-ons but $761 is unacceptable! I am a post paid Globe Subscriber also for almost 6 years. I received loyalty rewards like cash rebates and free phones and I even encouraged some of my friends to subscribe to Globe. But what are they trying to do now?

I know I am just a simple person using a Mac… but I think my collection will be delayed with this overpriced tag… Sorry Globe, you may need to kneel down to win me back.
